Ellen Balmain, MPA
Ellen Balmain is the founder of Balmain Consulting. She has over 30 years’ experience as a leader and a consultant and has built a solid reputation for innovation, professionalism, accountability, and success. Ellen has extensive experience researching, writing, and evaluating funding applications, reports and papers throughout her career across all levels of government, community and private foundations, and United Ways. Clients will benefit from Ellen’s experience, strategic thinking, analysis, and management skills. Ellen has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario and received her undergrad in Community Development from the University of Waterloo.
Charlene Gordon
Charlene Gordon has worked as a grant consultant for more than twenty years in projects ranging from food processing, export marketing, and craft brewing to community development, alternative fuels, and agriculture, including greenhouse production. She also brings extensive experience in preparing SRED claims (scientific research & experimental development). Charlene’s strength lies in her ability to think outside the box while maintaining a firm grip on project details. She places a strong emphasis on situational analysis and confidentiality so clients are always kept within their ‘comfort zones’. A former municipal councillor, Charlene regularly presents workshops in proposal writing and effective Board governance.
